For entryways that are smaller, I would recommend either a recessed mat, or a rubber-backed carpet mat… For the restaurant industry, the average slip-and-fall claim is $1,957 for a guest slip-and-fall and $1,815 for an employee slip-and-fall. The retail industry spends, on average, $3,063 for a guest slip-and-fall and $2,851 for an employee slip-and-fall… The insurance industry estimates that 10% of accidental injuries are fraudulent, costing more than $10 billion each year. The most likely victim of a slip-and-fall is a woman over the age of 60…”
