continues with a new concept that integrates enhanced life-safety
with design and functionality.
Safe-T-First
features revolutionary PermaLight® technology that provides
low-location, non-electrical illuminated egress pathways and access
marking indicators to help guide building occupants to safety during
blackout situations. PermaLight photoluminescent technology is integrated
into Johnsonite's vinyl and rubber specialty flooring products.
Available
in a wide range colors, Safe-T-First floor and wall products can
be used as a system or individually, depending on your application
requirements. Safe-T-First products address the Americans and Disabilities
Act (ADA) for slip-resistent flooring, visually impaired flooring
and signage.
Johnsonite's
non-electrical Safe-T-First System enables you to integrate design
requirements with life-safety in one system solution.
Create
a non-electrical, low location egress route by integrating PermaLight
photoluminescent technology into Johnsonite flooring products in
a wide range of coordinating colors.
The
system addresses requirements of ADA, OSHA, ANSI, ASTM, NFPA, DIN
and various other codes and regulations for:

All
products may be used as a system or individually to address your
particular need.
PermaLight
photoluminescent material will provide a lighted area for up to
10 hours, depending on product type. The product will also recharge
itself in 20 minutes (depending on activating light source) of daylight
or under incandescent or fluorescent lighting. (Note: Sodium Vapor
light source will not provide adequate charging.)

Visually
impaired Rubber and Vinyl Stair Treads - Photoluminescent surfaces
define step area to safely negotiate stairway, even during most
blackout situations.
Visually
Impaired Vinyl Stair Nosings - Co-extruded with a photoluminescent
strip that can be retrofit to carpeted or resilient-covered stairs.
Vinyl
Floor Tile - Available in a yellow marbleized pattern or a solid
yellow raised pattern texture.
Vinyl
Corner Guards - Assist in avoiding corners, projections and
obstructions during blackout situations.
Rubber
Cove Base - Co-extruded with a strip of photoluminescent material
to provide continuous low-location egress indication for hallways
and stairways.
Tactile
Warning Surface - Alerts visually impaired individuals at the
top of stairs or other hazardous changes in elevation. Surface is
ribbed and includes photoluminescent properties.
Disk
Inserts - Create a variety of guidance patterns and directional
indicators in flooring or wall surfaces.
Vinyl
Handrail - Available in many coordinated colors to help guide
individuals in negotiating stairways during blackout situations.
Plain
Tape - To mark escape routes, highlight emergency equipment
cabinets and as backing for door knobs and handles in 1", 2"
or 4" widths by 25' or 50' lengths.
Guidance
Strips - May be used to highlight doorways and critical building
HVAC and computer rooms or may be applied above existing wallbase;
in 50' rolls, 1" or 2" wide.
ComforTech®
- A cushioned rubber flooring system with textured surface, providing
high performance and low maintenance that meet ADA recommendations
for slip resistance.
Carpet
Cove Cap - Provides continuous photoluminescent guidance at
top of carpet cove in hallways.
Feature
Strip - A 1" wide, square-edged profile for use in floor-marking
applications.
