INTRODUCTION
The
Johnsonite/Permalight Photoluminescent Safety System is a supplemental
evacuation system integrating color-matched products with self-illuminating
technology for developing low-location escape path routing during
periods of sudden darkness, while enhancing present building safety
systems.
Components
of the Johnsonite/Permalight Photoluminescent Safety System are
for interior applications only. Continuous exposure to non-filtered
sunlight, coupled with high humidity levels, can result in irreparable
damage to the photoluminescent crystalline structure of the material.
Important:
Johnsonite/Permalight Photoluminescent Safety products must be exposed
to either glass-filtered sunlight, fluorescent, mercury vapor, metal
halide or incandescent light sources for proper operation. A presite
inspection is required prior to the installation of the Johnsonite/Permalight
Photoluminescent Safety System components.
Caution:
Johnsonite/Permalight Photoluminescent Safety products will not
operate when exposed to sodium vapor light sources.
The
highest quality of materials and workmanship is employed in the
manufacture of Johnsonite/Permalight Photoluminescent Safety Components,
and careful inspection is made before shipment. However, a quality
installation is the responsibility of the installer, and we highly
recommend that all materials be checked for satisfactory color match
prior to installation.
Important:
For warranty to apply, all components of the Johnsonite/Permalight
Photoluminescent Safety System shall be installed per our instructions
and with our recommended adhesives. To ensure optimum performance,
the photoluminescent material must be maintained on a routine basis.
Johnsonite cannot accept any responsibility for loss or damage that
may result from the use of this information, due to the possibility
of variations of processing and/or workmanship outside our control.
Users are advised to confirm the suitability of these products by
their own tests.
